# Future Mesh Infrastructure

### Building Toward Nearby Mesh

The Node Network serves a broader purpose than geolocation mining.

It is the first stage of a much larger decentralized infrastructure layer.

As Nearby Mesh is introduced, GeoNodes will become local network participants capable of supporting:

* Device discovery
* Peer-to-peer communication
* Local message routing
* Community connectivity
* Emergency communication systems

### Expanding Network Utility

Today's GeoNodes generate location proofs.

Tomorrow's GeoNodes will help power communication infrastructure.

By gradually expanding node capabilities, Nearby creates a distributed network that combines:

* Geolocation verification
* Mesh communication
* Local coordination
* Resilient infrastructure

The result is a growing ecosystem where every participating device contributes to the physical-world infrastructure of the protocol.

***

This structure is much stronger because it clearly communicates:

**Phase 1**\
→ GeoNode = Proof-of-Location mining

**Phase 2**\
→ GeoNode = Mesh participant

**Phase 3**\
→ GeoNode = Full Nearby infrastructure node

which makes the roadmap feel coherent rather than making the current node network seem underdeveloped.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.nearby.finance/protocol-layers/proof-of-location-location-layer/node-network/future-mesh-infrastructure.md?ask=<question>
```

The question should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
